The event was officially opened by the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Dr Emmerson D. Mnangagwa, highlighting the importance of skills development, innovation and technological advancement in driving economic growth and sustainable development across Africa.

Africa Skills Week brings together various stakeholders, including government institutions, universities, polytechnics, industry leaders and organisations, to showcase innovations, practical skills and technological solutions aimed at transforming Africa’s industrial and economic landscape.

Among the participating institutions and organisations are TelOne, Zimbabwe Youth Council, Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), Chinhoyi University of Technology, Harare Polytechnic and the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), among many others.

The event provides an important platform for knowledge exchange, networking and exploring opportunities for collaboration between training institutions and industry players.

For HIPH, participation in Africa Skills Week reinforces our commitment to promoting practical, industry-relevant education, research and innovation. As an institution dedicated to developing competent professionals, we recognise the importance of equipping students with skills that respond to emerging technologies, evolving industry demands and national development priorities.

The exhibitions demonstrate how institutions and industries are translating knowledge into practical solutions, while emphasising the need to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications.

Our participation also provides valuable insights into emerging opportunities for partnerships, skills development and innovation that contribute towards enhancing the quality and relevance of our training programmes.

As Africa continues to embrace digital transformation and industrialisation, HIPH remains committed to nurturing skilled, innovative and competitive graduates capable of contributing meaningfully to Zimbabwe’s development and the broader African economy.

At HIPH, we believe that skills development, innovation and collaboration are essential drivers of a prosperous and sustainable future.
