Welcome to the 1st Public Health Symposium (PHS22) to be held from the 7th-8th of December 2022 at the Great Indaba Hall, Monomatapa Crowne Plaza, Harare, Zimbabwe. PHS22 brings together local, regional, and international thought leaders and innovative change-makers to discuss pressing public health issues in Zimbabwe. The symposium will provide stakeholders in the public health value chain an opportunity to take stock of Zimbabwe’s experience during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic with a view to informing health systems strengthening in the country. PHS22 presents unparalleled opportunities to network, exchange ideas, promote collaboration, and gain insights into the latest trends and challenges in the field of public health.

Purposes of the Symposium.

Who is invited?

PhS22 is designed to create a platform for stakeholders in the public health value chain to network, exchange ideas, and share information leading to the adaptation of best practices for health systems strengthening in Zimbabwe. Through this initiative, there is also a need to reignite health activism in Zimbabwe to influence, advocate, and lobby for positive policy reforms that can positively impact the field of public health. Above all, the aim is to influence decision-makers, multilaterals, country-level policymakers, and private sector representatives to direct resources into the health systems strengthening agenda.

PHS22 invites researchers, policymakers, NGOs, CSOs, development partners, government oversight bodies, youth and women’s organisations, organisations for persons living with disabilities (OPDs), students and private sector representatives, institutions of learning, and public health enthusiasts to this historic symposium.
