AIMS & OBJECTIVES
AIM
The 3rd edition of the Public Health Symposium seeks to provide a collaborative platform for stakeholders in the Public health value chain across Zimbabwe and the region to network, discuss, share knowledge, ideas and best practice whilst integrating heritage and evidence-based approaches to advance public health in Zimbabwe and beyond.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
To promote integration of evidence and heritage based knowledge systems in innovative and culturally relevant public health strategies in Zimbabwe and beyond.
To explore and evaluate sustainable public health financing models, boost local resource mobilization, and promote public-private partnerships for self-sufficient public health systems in Zimbabwe and beyond.
Provide a platform for cross-sectoral collaboration to share best practices, innovative technologies, and strategies for addressing pressing public health issues in Zimbabwe and beyond.
Facilitate high-level discussions among policymakers, health experts, and other key public health stakeholders, aimed at shaping policies that merge traditional and modern health systems for a holistic approach and,
Examine the current state of public health data collection, analysis, utilization and research in Africa to identify opportunities for improvement to inform health policies and practices.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES:
Identified effective healthcare models and frameworks incorporating indigenous knowledge for Zimbabwe and Africa.
Recommendations for sustainable health financing to build a resilient health system.
Established policy agenda promoting the integration of indigenous and evidence-based health approaches.
Road-map created to improve public health data collection and local research capacity.
Collaborative research networks formed to address regional health challenges with incorporating locally
driven solutions.
A communiqué outlining key resolutions and recommendations on public health interventions. This
document will serve as a resource for informing public health policy and guiding best practices in Zimbabwe and the broader region.
