Members of Parliament from the Health and Child Care Portfolio Committee, led by the Chair, visited the Harare Institute of Public Health on a fact-finding mission on Thursday, 28th November 2024. The Honourable Members obtained firsthand information on HIPH’s contributions to advancing public health in Zimbabwe, the region, and beyond through training, research, stakeholder engagements, and reverse engineering in biomedical engineering, among other innovations. The Principal, Dr. Marume, emphasised the need for Zimbabwe to reimagine its public health systems and structures, as current settings were conceived in a different time with a distinct context. The visit highlighted the Institute’s role in equipping students with essential skills in health technology, nursing, pharmacy, veterinary sciences, and community health to address national healthcare needs. #education5.0, #publichealthsymposium, #innovation, #HIPH
